Cassandra Lee-Austin is Director of Human Resources with Delta Vacations, a Delta Air Lines company. Cassandra is responsible for creating strategy and leading the day-to-day human capital operations for more than 300 company employees in three locations. She also facilitates high-level mentoring and coaching for leaders, employees and the executive teams to encourage a positive and inclusive culture. Cassandra leads a core team of 20 Delta Vacations human resources (HR) professionals in Atlanta, Georgia and Minot, North Dakota in developing and executing the company's HR strategy to ensure alignment with Delta.
As an experienced Delta Vacations leader, Cassandra provides advocacy for opportunities in alignment with Delta that elevate the company's workforce by providing employees in all office locations with the right tools, resources and information for the best possible employee experience. With an extensive HR career that spans more than four decades, Cassandra has a proven track record of achievement across multiple industries encompassing aviation and telecommunications.
Prior to joining Delta Vacations, Cassandra provided strategic, hands-on HR support and counsel for more than nine years for several Delta operations leadership teams in the Airport Customer Service, Cargo , TechOps, Supply Chain Management and Operations and Analytics divisions. She participated in merger integrations efforts over a three-year period with more than 27 000 Northwest Airlines and Delta Airport Customer Service and Cargo agents. As the Delta Vacations Director of HR, Cassandra has successfully managed and implemented a talent assessment, succession planning and leadership development curriculum focused on coaching and performance management across the organization. She led the HR strategy and partnered with senior leaders for Delta Vacations to achieve Great Place to Work certification two years in a row.
Cassandra holds a B.A. in Psychology from University of California, San Diego (UCSD), has multiple HR certifications, is on the Board of Directors with WorkSource Atlanta and serves as a mentor for Delta’s RISE mentorship program. She has twin daughters and loves to spend time traveling and cooking for family and friends.
